Creating Group of Companies

Step 1
First you have to create all the member companies of the group as individual companies and maintain accounting and inventory records in them.

Step 2
Select all the companies you wish to include in a group.

Step 3
At 'Gateway of Tally' press Alt + F3 to open company info

Step 4
Press 'G' at the company info screen or click on the Create Group company to create the group company.

Then enter the following details there:

Name: Write name of the group company you want to create.

Address : Here you have to write the address of the company.

Member Companies : Here you will get a list of created and selected companies. Select the companies from there which is a part of the group created. After selecting all the companies select 'End Of List' to exit from the list.

After this steps are done if you view the balance sheet of the Group Company, you will see the figures of all the companies together. New columns can also be inserted if you want to see the figures of individual companies in the balance sheet of the group company.

Group Company

You can also create a "Group Company" in Tally 9. "Group Company" consists of a set of single companies that form a part of a Group. The divisions can be made in terms of subsidiaries, branches, divisions, etc. For example Tata motors, Tata steel, Titan, TCS, Tata Chemicals, Tata salt, Tata tea and so on are companies of TATA Group of Companies.

You can maintain the accounts of each subsidiaries, branches or divisions, etc. separately.

Activating multiple companies at the same time

One or more companies can be kept active while working in Tally.You can navigate between the active companies without closing any of them.

At first select one company from the list of companies. Then at the Gateway of Tally of that company press F1. There you will get the list of companies, select another company which you want to active from the list of existing companies. Repeat the procedure again if you want to active any other company.

All the active companies will appear at the Gateway of Tally under the head "List of Selected Companies".

If you want to close or shut down any of the selected company press Alt + F1 and select the company you want to shut down.

Creating a New Company when other Companies exist

It is possible to create more than one company in Tally.

If no company is selected while loading Tally, the Company Info. menu will appear.

In the Company Info. menu you can either select an existing company or create a new company. To create a new company select the option 'Create Company' and press enter. It will take you to the company creation screen.

If a company is selected while loading Tally, then in that case Tally will automatically open that company. In this case press Alt + F3 to go to the Company Info. menu. To create a new company select the option 'Create Company' and press enter. It will take you to the company creation screen.
